Wedgetaildown, within the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Sanctuary on the Eleanor River, is a place were you can forget the humdrum of your busy life.
THE ACCOMODATION
The accommodation is totally off-grid and uses its thermal mass for cooling during the summer. The large reflective glass windows open up to a landscape where you can enjoy wildlife literally on your doorstep, whether it be a rare and endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo or the prehistoric looking Rosenberg's Goanna.
The property hosts an abundance of Kangaroo, Echidna, Koala, Wallabies and Possum including the very special Pygmy Possum. Our beautiful Wedgetail Eagles soaring on the thermals - the evocative cry of the Eastern Grey Curlew in the evening will create wonderful memories of your time on this unique property.
We encourage all visitors to leave the smallest footprint on the Wedgetaildown Property. It's important to not drive anywhere but on the manmade tracks - in this way the animals within the property feel secure that there own areas are not endangered.
